"But what," badgers a relentless voice, "exactly are you doing out here? What are you accomplishing? What are you getting out of it? And what, oh especially what are you going to do with your life?"

The voice usually stops me. Knocks me down, kicks sand in my face. But this time, finally, I tell the voice to shut up. It's a stupid question, what are you going to do with your life. Setting out to do something with your life is like sitting down to eat a moose. Nobody ever did anything succussfully with their life. Instead they did something with their day. Each day.

Sunrise is birth. Sleep is death. Each day is your life.

Let the moose run. Eat some blueberries.

The Plan

10 days until I head off to Sweden to start my adventure across Asia with the one and only Kelly Toots.

It all started with a random email from Kelly. He said he wanted to go to India for a bit and was thinking about going there by land. He knew that I wanted to go to China, so he invited me along. Who could say no to that?

Our plan is open ended. We're not really sure what is going to happen. We have a general idea of what we want to do, however, things may change completely.

Here's the plan:
- Have Kelly show me around Sweden a bit.
- Ferry across to Finland (maybe stop in Estonia)
- Bike across Finland to St. Petersburg, Russia
- Train down to Moscow
- Train to Irkutsk
- Train to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
- Train to Beijing, China
- Explore around China
- Train to Lhasa, Tibet
- Bike to Kathmandu, Nepal
- Hike to Mt. Everest base camp
- Bus to Varanasi, India
- Explore around India
- Fly home

Hopefully we'll get to do a lot of the things on the list. But it will be an adventure nonetheless.

This is where I'll be documenting significant events that happen. If you'd like to follow us on our trip, this is where to do it.

Happy travels,

Kyle
